Second Harvest Food Bank Distributed 126,301 Pounds of Food



Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee distributed 126,301 pounds of food to 816 households during their Thanksgiving distribution at Redemption Church on Wednesday,
November 20th. Second Harvest would like to thank Stand Out For Good, Inc. for sponsoring this distribution. Those who attended the distribution received Thanksgiving ingredients such as turkey, gravy, stuffing mix, canned cranberry sauce, canned fruits and vegetables and the ingredients to make pumpkin pie, along with other shelf-stable items and fresh produce.  

“Second Harvest is incredibly thankful to Stand Out For Good for sponsoring this distribution and allowing us to provide food for 816 families during the holiday season,” said Elaine Streno, Executive Director of Second Harvest.

Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee, a member of Feeding America, has worked to compassionately feed East Tennesseans experiencing hunger since 1982. Last year, Second Harvest distributed more than 26.3 million pounds of food across an 18-county service area through multiple hunger relief programs and 630+ community partners.
