The Webb School of Knoxville Girls’ Varsity Soccer Team celebrated a phenomenal close to the 2024 soccer season. The Webb Lady Spartans were recently named REGIONAL CHAMPIONS and TSSAA STATE RUNNER-UP at the DIIAA Championship, held in Chattanooga, for 2024. This season will go down in the history books, as Webb made its very first state championship appearance in program history, having only made quarterfinals six times previously (2009, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2024). Coached by Elaine Roth, with assistants Jerome Romain and Sydney Clements, this nationally ranked team enjoyed wins over Baylor, Girls Preparatory School, Harpeth Hall, Knoxville Catholic, Alcoa, Anderson County, Battle Ground Academy, Farragut, Greeneville, Hutchison, Hardin Valley Academy, Lakeway Christian Academy, Lincoln County, Maryville and Providence Academy. The Lady Spartans also won their regular season, finishing with a 16-2-1 record. This year’s roster included: Abby Weigel (senior), Anna Lee Castleberry, Camden Camp, Caroline Dye, Emerson Clarke, Emorie Barton, Gideon Bradford, Gracen Daniels, Izzie Kerchner, June Samulski, Landree Horner, Lauren Newell, Layla Kassira, Mary Mac Emery, Megan Midis, Pearce Groer (senior), Piper Luhn, Rileigh Coke, Scarlett Lane Adreon, Simone Romain and Zara Berg. Other accolades include Webb’s Junior Varsity Team also celebrating a winning season and going undefeated for 2024.
